Tips and care
FLX owner should aware of the CVT gearbox. This is new technology applied by Proton and yet CVT are still at medium level of expertise in Malaysia. Only selected workshop can repair CVT at decent prices. One should always take care of his/her CVT all the time and be aware to any abnormalities coming from your powertrain. Drive gently and smoothly as possible and avoid rapid speed changing. Do aware of your tyre air pressure to eliminate any drag oppose to CVT, plus good air pressure also safe fuel and tyre thread.
CVT care are simple, perform service according to time and used only standard CVT fluid which is ExxonMobil EZL799 CVT Punch Transmission Fluid. It is best recommendoed to change the CVT Fluid at 40,000 Km mileage although Proton claim that the CVT is less maintenance compared to conventional tranny it is wise for us to be secure and play safe right?
CVT fluid change needed almost 4 litre of fluid. EZL799 CVT Fluid comes in 1 Liter and its sold at MYR45 per bottle. CVT fluid changes should only be perform at Proton Service centre as FLX CVT needed a special tools for the jobs. EZL799 can be obtained also at the SC.
So, be wise all. Notice your mileage all the time. Dont let your CVT runs on old fluid let it loose and run smooth.
